Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament :

Hymn

Meditation for each week :

Thursday, October 1st :

In memory of st Theresa of the Child Jesus, of the Holy Face.

The Saint of trust and the little way is imbued with the message of Paray : « From all sides,(your Merciful Love) is poorly known, rejected ; the hearts in which You want to spread it turn towards creation, asking of them happiness with their miserable affection instead of throwing themselves into your arms, and accepting your infinite Love… O My God !  Is your scorned Love going to remain in your Heart ? It seems to me that if You were to find souls offering themselves as Victims of holocausts to your Love, You would consume them quickly, it seems to me that You would be happy to not repress the flow of infinite tenderness, which is in You ».

Thursday, October 8th

Next Sunday 11th will be the day in memory of saint John XXIII (even if we will not celebrate it because the Sunday takes precedence from the liturgical point of view). Here is a fine meditation from his « journal of the soul ».

« Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep, the one that was lost ».

I feel that my Jesus is always closer to me. Recently, He has allowed me to fall  into the sea and drown in the consideration of my mysery and my pride, to make me understand to what extent I need Him. At the moment when I risked being submerged, Jesus, walking on the waters, came to meet me with a smile to save me. Alongside Peter, I would like to say to Him : « Go away from me Lord ! I am a sinful man ! » (Luke 5), but the tenderness of his Heart and the sweetness of his words come before me : « Do not be afraid » (Luke 5).

Thursday, October 15th

Tomorrow, October 16th, solemnity here in Paray le Monial of saint Margaret Mary. In this jubilee year of her canonisation, let us welcome the words of fire which she addresses to her Lord.

I take You then O Sacred Heart as the sole object of my love, the protector of my life, the assurance of my salvation, the remedy of my weakness and my inconstancy, the repairer of all the failings in my life, and my sure refuge at the hour of my death. Be then, O Heart of kindness, my justification towards God your Father…

O Heart of Love, I place all my trust in You, for I fear everything from my wickedness and my weakness, but I hope for everything from your kindness. Consume then within me everything which can displease You or resist You, may y pure Love imprint itself so much in my heart that I may never forget You, or be separated from You, and that I implore, through all your kindness, that my name be written in you, since I want to devote all my happiness and all my glory to live and die as your slave (saint Margaret Mary).

Ah, most Merciful Heart, Heart full of pity and goodness of my Father and my Saviour, do not refuse help for my unworthy heart.

Destroy within me the reign of sin and establish there the reign of virtue, so that your image remains perfectly completed and may be one day an ornament of your celestial palace. Amen ! (saint Margaret Mary)

Thursday, October 22nd

Today, the liturgical memory of saint John Paul II, apostle and friend of the Heart of Jesus. Let us recall his words on the occasion of the tricentenary of the death of saint Margaret Mary in 1990.

« During my pilgrimage in 1986, at the tomb of Margaret Mary, I asked in the spirit of what she had transmitted to the Church that there would be a faithful devotion to the Sacred Heart. For it is next to the Heart of Christ, that the heart of man learns to know the true and unique sense of his life and his destiny, for it is next to the Heart of Jesus, that the Heart of man receives the capacity to love.

« We must (saint Margaret Mary tells us) make ourselves into living copies of our crucified Spouse, by expressing Him in us through our actions ». She invites us to contemplate the Heart of Christ, i.e. to recognise, in the humanity of the Word made flesh, the infinite riches of his Love for the Father and for men. »

Thursday, October 29th :

Following the meditation of st John XXIII proposed for the 8th of October last. Journal of the soul.

Oh ! I no longer fear anything next to You ! I place everyting on You ; like the lost sheep, I hear the beatings of your Heart ; Jesus, I am once more to You, to You for ever. With You I am really tall ; without You I am just a feeble reed, but leaning onYou, I am a column. I must never forget my wretchedness, not to constantly tremble, but so that despite my humility and my confusion, I may approach your Heart with ever greater confidence, for my wretchedness is the throne of your Mercy and your Love.

Antiphon

The Kingdom of Heaven is similar to a merchant, who is looking for real pearls ; and who, having found one at a great price, gave all his wealth and bought it.

  1. Grace has spread on your lips,
  2. So the Lord has blessed you for eternity.

LET US PRAY. Lord Jesus Christ, who showed through the marvellous revelations to the blessed virgin Margaret Mary the incomprehensible richness of your Heart : through her merits and her example, make us love You in all things and above all things, that we may thus be worthy to have forever a place in your Heart, O You, who being God, lives and reigns with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.
