« Everyone will see him, including thoses who pierced him. » : here we recognise anew ( a bit transformed) this quote from Zachariah 12, that st John had already used in order to give a permanent and salvatory sense of the piercing of the Heart (John 19). All the peoples of the earth will recognise the Christ during his second coming in Glory, and his pierced Heart will then be the great sign of our redemption… redemption that has been acquired by the effusion of his blood, to which will join the blood of martyrs in the course of history.
